A number of exciting developments are currently taking place in the Northern Inland relating to sustainable business practices. We will be highlighting a number of these projects on the NISBN website to allow for the sharing of information, resources and promotional opportunities.

TAFE Sustainability Centre
A Sustainability Centre is currently being constructed at TAFE New England Institute's Tamworth campus to provide programs and training for students and staff focusing on developing the knowledge and skills to assess, measure and address environmental issues. The Centre is due to open in June 2010.
SLEX Sustainable Business Forum
The Armidale Sustainable Living Expo (SLEX) will take place at the Armidale Showground on 25 - 27 September, 2009.
On Friday 25 September NISBN will be hosting a Sustainable Business Forum in conjunction with SLEX. The SLEX Sustainable Business Forum will be held at the Armidale Town Hall on Friday 25 September 2009 at 1.00pm – 4.00pm (two hour forum followed by light refreshments).
This will be an opportunity to network with like-minded regional businesses and hear from a variety of interesting speakers. The keynote speaker will be Mr. John Brodie, a sustainability expert.

Aq-quip Field Day 2009
NISBN are partnering with Rural Press, co-ordinators of the Ag-quip Field Days, NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) and Sustainable Event Management Solutions (SEMS) in preparing a sustainability audit of the 2009 Ag-quip event.

Regenesis
Regenesis is a joint initiative of Sister Cities, Liverpool Plains Shire Council and the Blacktown City Council. The partnership has been made possible with a $2 million NSW Enviromental Trust grant. The project will allow for large tracts of public and privately owned land to be utilised for biodiversity plantings and carbon storage.
