TAFE NSW - New England Institute


TAFE NSW is Australia's largest training provider, and it is among the largest in the world. The letters 'TAFE' stand for Technical and Further Education, and, for hundreds of thousands of people each year, it also stands for high quality, accessible training. The strong, capable and vibrant New England Institute uses innovative methods, including web-enhanced learning, mixed mode and flexible delivery systems to deliver vocational education and training to sparsely populated areas.

AusIndustry is the Australian Government's principal business program delivery division in the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research. AusIndustry delivers a range of more than 30 business programs, including innovation grants, tax and duty concessions, small business development, industry support, and venture capital to about $2 billion to more than 10,000 businesses and 80,000 individuals every year.

Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water


The Department of Environment and Climate Change was formed on 27 April 2007 to enable a more integrated response to the unprecedented challenges presented by climate change. Broadly, the Department of Environment and Climate Change works towards a healthy environment cared for and enjoyed by the whole NSW community; manages the state's natural resources, including biodiversity, soils and natural vegetation; manages natural and cultural heritage across the state's land and waters; acts to minimise the impacts of climate change; promotes sustainable consumption, resource use and waste management; regulates activities to protect the environment and conducts biodiversity.

Primary Industries Innovation Centre


The Primary Industries Innovation Centre (PIIC) is a joint-venture research partnership between the University of New England (UNE) and Industry & Investment NSW. PIIC incorporates the National Centre of Rural Greenhouse Gas Research based at UNE. PIIC/NCRGGR have a vision to be committed to improving the profitability and sustainability of primary industries through undertaking and supporting quality research and development, education, extension and training which is relevant to northern areas of New South Wales in particular but which also has national and international relevance.
